Ten years ago I made the drawing on the left, for my grandmother. I got it back today, cause she died this year and this kind of stuff kinda reappears. I decided to redraw it, as a gift for her, a way of saying "Hey, I grew up, I never gave up! Thanks to you."

obviously u've gotten better but to be honest the one on the left to me looks like a different style, como anime
the one on the right has so much detail it looks more realistic

I just gotta say when i saw the picture, I thought it was neat seeing you develope. Then I saw the description, it just made the drawing even better. I relate so much to this when I used to draw to my grandmother and what i would think if this happened to me. Even tho it wasn't much said I kinda feel nostalgic by just reading this. I'm sorry for your loss and it is indeed a beautiful tribute
